How it works

Why 18 MB?
Gmail and Yahoo allow 25 MB of attachments and Outlook allows 20 MB. Email also inflates attachments by about a third while sending. Aiming under 18 MB gives the best picture that still reliably goes through.
We work out the right resolution and quality for your video’s length, compress it, then measure the actual file. If it’s even slightly over, we automatically make another pass. We only say “under 18 MB” when it really is.
Long videos
Some videos are simply too long to fit in an email with watchable quality. We tell you that before you start, instead of producing a blurry mess. For those, trim the video or share a link from a cloud drive instead.
Questions
Is my video uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs inside your browser using your own device. The file is never sent to our server or anyone else.
Which option should I pick?
Leave it on Balanced. “Better quality” keeps more detail when the video is short enough to allow it. “Fast” uses a smaller picture (up to 720p) and finishes sooner.
Will it play on the recipient’s phone or computer?
Yes. The result is a standard MP4 (H.264 video, AAC sound), the most widely supported video format.
